SyFy Channel Announces Orion / 7.30.10

Variety reports today that George Krstic's next project - Orion has been picked up for development as a live-action series for SyFy.

"Orion, described as National Treasure meets Firefly, is a space opera centering on a female relic hunter and her team. The crew looks to sell valuable items on the black market while avoiding bounty hunters."

Krstic will be serving as executive producer along with co-creator Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus), and writers Dirk Blackman and Howard MacCain (Outlander).

Megas Named Among Top Five Cartoon Network Series / 12.19.09

The animation news website Toonzone has ranked Krstic's Megas XLR as one of the top five shows produced by Cartoon Network studios:

Clone Wars Season One Release Date / 7.15.09

The complete first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is set to hit streets on November 3rd with a DVD as well as a Blu-ray edition.

Both of Krstic's episodes from the first season - "Downfall of a Droid," and "Storm Over Ryloth" will contain bonus features including behind-the-scenes featurettes and an extended cut.

Rob Fitz, writer/director of 2006's God of Vampires and George Krstic have joined forces on an as-yet untitled feature horror project.

Both former School of Visual Arts classmates, Fitz and Krstic are already deep into scripting stage, with a tentative plan to start production sometime in late 2010.

Big box retailer Walmart is offering an exclusive release of the initial Clone Wars series DVD, with Krstic's episode Downfall of a Droid snuck in as a bonus feature.

Clone Wars Nominated for Saturn Award / 3.26.09

Currently working with Studio Toei (One-Piece, Battle Royale) on a feature project, Krstic is in preliminary talks to adapt yet another of the Japanese media giant's classic properties.

Happy with Krstic's re-envisioning of one of their legacy titles, Toei is eager to capture lighting in a bottle and enlist his aid in re-booting another well known anime and manga series.

Yakuza Feature in 2008 / 1.03.08

Based on actual events taken from Tokyo's recent underworld history, Krstic's original live-action feature pitch, Manga Gundan, has been greenlit to go to script.

Still in early development, the property has already attracted the attention of one of Japan's biggest studios, as well an A-list star.

Top Cow Team-Up / 12.07.07

George Krstic is developing a new original comic book series for Top Cow Comics (Witchblade, Wanted).

With an approved treatment written by Krstic and Ryuhei Kitamura, (director of Clive Barker's upcoming Midnight Meat Train), their as-yet untitled horror project has been greenlit by producers to move forward.

Possible Five Killers Feature in the Works / 9.01.07

Creator/Producer Eric Calderon (Afro Samurai) has entered initial discussions with a number of production companies about bringing the proposed anime series to the big screen - with Calderon, Krstic and Mark Waid (52, Flash) to serve as writers for the sci-fi/action feature.

Krstic in Talks to Script Fusion Fall Feature / 8.20.07

Krstic is in early talks to script a feature based on the Fusion Fall manga he co-wrote as a Comic Con exclusive.

Due in part to an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the manga, Cartoon Network is now considering doing a feature to kick off the Fusion Fall online video game launch next year.

Dark Vault Feature Fast-tracked / 8.10.07

With an approved script written by Krstic, the horror feature is tentatively set to start production by the end of the year.

Co-created by Krstic and director Chris Prynoski (Amazing Screw-On Head, Metalocalypse) Dark Vault is poised to combine animation, illustration and classic literature in one terror-filled package.

George Krstic has been signed to develop and write a feature for Japanese heavyweight, Studio Toei (Battle Royale, Dragon Ball).

The feature will be based on one of their older properties, updated for a new generation and an international audience.

Megas in Fusion Fall / 8.01.07

Megas will be making an appearance in Cartoon Network's Fusion Fall online game. Set to launch in 2008, Fusion Fall will allow fans to interact with some of their favorite Cartoon Network characters.

Among them, an update of a classic manga hero, as well as a re-envisioning of one of Kitamura's landmark films.
